Counterstays

Counterstays, also known as counter supports, are tools that are used in conjunction with bearing pullers. They provide pressure in the opposite direction of the puller so a bearing can be removed slowly and evenly. In many occasions a spindle will connect to the puller and the legs will be placed on the housing of the part with the bearing. The size of counter stays greatly varies in order to fit multiple applications. Some even have adjustable legs. Slide hammers are an alternative to counter-stays.
