Profilometers

Profilometers are also know as surface roughness testers. They can tell you how rough or smooth a surface is to varying degrees of accuracy. Most Profilometers work by moving the unit or a probe across a surface. It will then give you a readout which is usually in Ra or Rz. Their size, shape, features and accuracy vary from device to device. Some can even transit readings to a computer via a Bluetooth or other wireless connection.
