The Jonard Tools FOD-2000 Fiber Optic Drop Cable Slitter is a patented, award-winning tool designed for FTTH technicians who need clean access to flat fiber drop cables. Built for slitting flat drop cable jackets, the device works at mid-span or end sections and slits both sides of the jacket at the same time to support faster fiber access.
The Drop Cable Slitter is compatible with common 0.250 in flat drop cable applications and handles jacket thicknesses from 0.03 in to 0.04 in. It supports flat drop cables measuring 0.305 in to 0.350 in wide by 0.155 in to 0.185 in high, with a maximum cable width of 0.350 in. The device is compatible with Corning SST-Drop flat cables and select Super Essex Communications flat drop cables, including Series 6U, 6T tonable, W7, W7 tonable, 6U 24F, and 6T 24F tonable cables. It separates the jacket and strength members from the buffer tube while leaving the fiber undamaged, helping with clean cable preparation in field installations.
