HSS drill bits, also known as high speed steel drill bits, are created to withstand the high heat and cutting speed demands of drilling into metal. These types of drill bits are made with additional alloys mixed into the carbon steel, and are harder than high-carbon steel. They are extremely durable, and won't ware easily.
