Machining

Machining is the process of cutting metal by drilling, milling, turning, shaping, or hole making. It's mostly done in manufacturing where the goal is to turn a larger, raw piece of metal into a part or finished product. Finished parts might also be machined to repair them, improve upon their design, or modify their design. Other materials like plastic, wood, & ceramic can also be machined, but most of the time "machining" refers to working with metal. Cutting tools like drill bits, and mills are used in tandem with drill presses, milling machines, lathes, CNC Machines, and other machines you'd find in a machine shop. Accessories like measuring tools, workpiece holders, coolant systems, & tool holders, machine tools to expand their capabilities.
