Run-out Testers

Run-out testers, also known as concentricity testers, are pieces of equipment used in metrology to help inspect the amount of deviation from the intended shape, known as run-out. They're typically used in conjunction with an indicator holder, and indicator. Often, you'll find run-out testers in machine shops testing cylindrical parts or components like shafts or wheels which will be used in a larger machine or system. Testers of this type are essential because parts with too much run-out can cause noise, vibrations, & even damage to the larger system.
