Slide Hammers

Slide hammers, sometimes known as slide hammer pullers, are tools used in the removal of bearings, seals, rings, bushings, and more. They connect to a bearing puller or screw, and the weight on the shaft is slid in the opposite direction. This should provide enough counter pressure to pull the bearing or seal out. They're used as an alternative to counter stays and may be used in tight situations. Metric Slide Hammers or imperial may be required depending on the application. Slide hammer seal pullers are specifically for removal of seals and come with special screws to penetrate and grab the seal. You'll often find slide hammers in automotive shops, machine shops, and factories. They're frequently used by technicians working to repair vehicles, equipment, and machines.
